1) What would be your position if you were a member of Dr. Sabankwa’s cabinet? As a member of Dr. Sabankwa’s cabinet, I would advise him to accept the IMF plan since at this point although dangerous it is the best option and the only solution present to help save the economy of the country. I would side with accepting the offer even if it meant reaching some sort of compromise.In my opinion, Dr. Sabankwa should accept the IMF plan, but should also insist on some modifications prior to fully accepting. One modification that I would request is the percentage of exchange rate decrease to 20% instead of 40% percent. I would explain to the officials that by decreasing such high percentage at once, it would only devalue it, making the economy viewed as weaker than it is, and this would prevent the country from prospering from this loan.
